Sadik Fofana is making the move to Fortuna. The 20-year-old defender comes over on a rental basis from Bayer Leverkusen.

Fofana, who will play with jersey number 3, is looking forward to his new challenge on the Dutch fields. "After a period at 1. FC Nürnberg, I wanted to take the next step to gain experience. Fortuna offers me that opportunity in a nice league. I hope to develop further next season as a person and as a footballer. I look forward to meeting my teammates and the supporters."

Americo Branco, technical manager: "Sadik is a talented, physically strong youth international from Germany. He can play in multiple positions in defense. Last season he was able to gain experience in the Bundesliga 2, next season he should take the next step in his development at Fortuna. We are pleased that Sadik has chosen us."

Fofana made the switch to Leverkusen in 2020, which acquired him from Alemannia Aachen's youth academy. Last season, the German youth international made his minutes for 1. FC Nürnberg. At the club from the 2. Bundesliga, the man-marker reached 20 matches.
