Fortuna sells Zian Flemming to Millwall
Zian Flemming has played his last game in the Fortuna shirt. The 23-year-old striker will leave immediately for Millwall, playing in the English Championship. The club's top scorer of the past two seasons has signed a multi-year contract.
Flemming: "In retrospect, the choice for Fortuna has been an important one in my career. It was two beautiful years, in which I got the chance to develop further as a player. I look back with pride on my period in Sittard, now it's time to take the next step. Thank you!"
The crucial save is still on Sjoerd Ars' mind. "Zian perfectly summed up in his last game why we as a club wanted to keep him back then," the technical manager said. "He always gives everything. For two years he was able to develop with us and in the end he has been invaluable to us. This transfer is therefore warmly welcomed by him."
Flemming made the switch to Fortuna in 2020. In the two seasons that followed, the Amsterdam native wore the shirt around his (broad) shoulders 62 times. In those, the right-winger accounted for 25 goals and 11 assists.
