Fortuna Women suffered a hard visit to Ajax. The team lost 5-1 at De Toekomst.

The match started with a minute's silence for Johan Neeskens. The former professional recently died at the age of 73. Once the match kicked off, Ajax showed that it wanted to keep the points in Amsterdam. The home team took the lead within fifteen minutes. Lotte Keukelaar wanted to give way, but saw the ball disappear over goalie Claire Dinkla: 1-0. After the opening goal, Ajax remained the dominant party, so a second goal was not long in coming. Nicole Stoop had to watch as a ball she accidentally touched rolled over the goal line.

Despite the Amsterdam force majeure, Fortuna Women managed to hold on to the 2-0 score until the half-time signal. However, things quickly went wrong again in the second half. Ajax put pressure on the last line, resulting in a loss of ball. It enabled Keukelaar to score her second of the afternoon. With an hour left on the clock, Isa Dekker scored the goal of honor. The attacker remained calm, eye-to-eye with the Ajax goalie, and controlled the shot into the short corner: 3-1.

However, Ajax soon managed to expand further. Lily Yohannes claimed a free kick and then curled it along the wall. Not much later, Yohannes seemed to score the goal of the weekend, by trying from the halfway line. Dinkla managed to turn the tide in time. In the end the score was 5-1. Keukelaar put the ball behind the Sittard defense with a through ball, allowing Nadine Noordam to put the final score on the scoreboard.
