Switzerland U21 failed to qualify for the European Championship. Ryan Fosso played both matches for the Alpine country during the international break.

Fosso made his debut for the Switzerland U21s during the previous international break. The midfielder did this during the 2-0 win against Montenegro's peers. Thanks to the victory, Switzerland kept sight of qualifying for the European Championship in 2025. With matches against direct competitors Finland and Romania, Sascha Stauch's team had qualification in their own hands.

In the match against Finland, Fosso kicked off. The scoreboard did not move for a long time, which only happened after 72 minutes of football. Casper Terho opened the scoring on behalf of Finland, Luca Jaquez equalized for Switzerland deep in injury time. At that time, Fosso was no longer within the lines. The 22-year-old right leg was substituted after just under an hour of play.

In the all-deciding game against leader Romania, the national coach decided to keep Fosso aside. The midfielder made his appearance five minutes before the end. The final score, a 3-1 lead for Romania, was already on the scoreboard. Because Finland also won its last match, Switzerland slipped to third place. This results in missing out on qualifying for the European Championship.
