Fortuna ended its fourth game in the preparation winningly. The team of head coach Danny Buijs won 4-3 against VVCS.

Buijs started the match with a significantly changed eleven compared to last Saturday, with only Deroy Duarte and Paul Gladon remaining. Öguzhan Özyakup had to miss the match due to illness. Sadik Fofana, who was presented on Tuesday, was immediately included in the selection.

Fortuna looked to attack from the first whistle. Nevertheless, it was VVCS that took the lead early in the match. The team of contractless footballers, led by Sjaak Polak, was extremely efficient in the opening phase. Within twenty minutes, Fortuna was looking at a 0-3 deficit. Nick Broekhuizen and Yassine Bouchnafa (2) managed to pass goalkeeper Koopmans.

In the remainder of the first half Fortuna tried to force a tying goal. Paul Gladon and Stipe Radic were close with headers and Umaro Embalo also tried from an awkward angle. However, the Sittardeners failed to score in the first half, leaving the scoreboard 0-3 at the tea break.

After the break, it was Fortuna that went in search of a goal. The chances piled up, but no goals were scored. This changed with the introduction of seven new players. Within twenty minutes Fortuna turned the game around, scoring three goals in the last ten minutes. Iñigo Córdoba scored both tying goals and Tijjani Noslin scored the equalizer and the winning goal.
