Ivo Pinto joins the Club of 100
Ivo Pinto played his hundredth match for Fortuna Sittard against FC Groningen on Saturday.
The captain switched from Dinamo Zagreb to Sittard in 2021. His debut followed on September 12, in the away match against Sparta Rotterdam. More than three years later, Pinto played his 93rd Eredivisie match in the home match against FC Groningen. The seven cup matches in which the defender played complete the hundred.
Pinto has another milestone in sight. The Portuguese still needs 28 matches to reach 500 official matches in professional football. With a contract until mid-2026, this personal milestone can also be celebrated in Sittard.
Club of 100
Pinto is of course not the first Fortunee to join the Club of 100. In the recent past, George Cox, Lisandro Semedo and Roel Janssen preceded him, among others. Rene Maessen can still - by far - call himself Mister Fortuna. The defender played no fewer than 447 games for Fortuna.
