Shannon de Wind and Leon Elshan join Fortuna U21
Shannon de Wind and Leon Elshan will be part of the Fortuna Academy next season. Both newcomers are part of the Fortuna U21-squad season
Kemal Calik is pleased with the arrival of the two. "We believe that they can develop further as a player here in Sittard," said the head of youth academy. "Shannon and Leon had several options, but ultimately consciously choose to switch to Fortuna."
Shannon de Wind
De Wind - nickname Neno - comes over from Feyenoord. The 17-year-old attacker has been part of the Feyenoord youth academy since 2016, the club where he signed his first professional contract in 2021. Last season, De Wind played for the O18 of the Rotterdam club.
Leon Elshan
Elshan makes the switch from SV Eintracht Trier 05. The Luxembourg striker played in the past for Nürnberg and Düdelingen, among others. The 18-year-old was recently called up for the national team of Luxembourg, but has not yet made his debut.
