The last home game of 2024 again. RKC Waalwijk makes the trip to Limburg. After two draws on foreign soil, we obviously hope to keep the three points at home during the last home game of the year. A preview of the opponent.

RKC Waalwijk this season

RKC Waalwijk has had a difficult season so far. Head coach Henk Fraser's team only took its first point in the ninth round and is only six points after fifteen games. Nevertheless, the club will also gain confidence from the past few weeks. After the 2-2 against FC Twente, with which the first point was achieved, they won against Vitesse (cup) and Almere City. A creditable draw was achieved when visiting Heracles Almelo and SC Heerenveen. We lost to NAC Breda, NEC Nijmegen and recently to Feyenoord. But certainly the match against the Rotterdam team showed that the Waalwijk team has not yet been written off. When trailing 2-3, the Brabanders still had several chances to score an equalizer.

Eyecatcher(s)
Last summer Richard van der Venne returned to the old nest. The midfielder left Waalwijk in 2022 for an adventure in Australia. After a period at Melbourne City and Swiss side St. Gallen, he returned to RKC. He enhanced his return with goals against PSV and FC Groningen. In the third match, against Go Ahead Eagles, he had to leave injured. A recovery period followed, after which Van der Venne returned to the starting line-up in the cracker against Almere City. He scored that match, just like Heracles Almelo a few weeks later. This means Van der Venne has four goals in seven games and is the club's top scorer for the Waalwijkers. The loss against Feyenoord in the previous round was therefore great.
