Fortuna presents new eSporters
Fortuna is represented in the new eDivision season by two newcomers compared to the previous season. Abdullah Waiss and Vince Eijkens signed a contract with the club as eSporters last week and will play for Fortuna in the eDivision. Both eSporters come from the stable of ECV esports, the club's official partner.
ABDULLAH WAISS
Newcomer Waiss will make his eDivision debut this season. For the past three seasons, Waiss, who lives in Belgium, was under contract with KRC Genk. On behalf of this club, he played in E-Pro League. In addition, Waiss is part of the official national eSports team of Belgium. Outside of eSports, Waiss is committed to educating Belgian youth about gaming in a conscious and responsible manner.
"After three fantastic years at KRC Genk, it's time for a new step in my career. I am happy to get that opportunity at Fortuna and look forward to making my debut in the eDivision. I have confidence in the cooperation with Vince and am convinced that together we will form a strong team to achieve the right results, starting next Tuesday against sc Heerenveen," said the brand new eSporter.
VINCE EIJKENS
Eijkens is not a complete stranger to Fortuna's team. In fact, last season he was on Fortuna's roster as a reserve player. He made his eDivision debut back then in the match against RKC Waalwijk, when he replaced former Fortuna player Marc Groenland. So this season, Eijkens is moved on to Fortuna's regular team, which will start the new eDivision season next week.
"Last season I already got to make my appearance twice in the eDivision on behalf of Fortuna. I am very happy that I am now part of the permanent team and can show my qualities every week in the eDivisie. I am really looking forward to the start of the new season and am sure that together with Abdullah I will form a good team and we will be able to achieve great results," said Eijkens.
