Fortuna Women lose to Feyenoord in friendly
On Friday, April 14, the Fortuna women played in Eindhoven against Rotterdam-based Feyenoord. Roger Reijners' team had a tough afternoon in Eindhoven, losing 0 - 3 against the Rotterdammers in the dress rehearsal for visiting Ajax on April 22.
The Fortuna women played at FC Eindhoven's training complex against the Feyenoord women.
The match started quietly, with both teams trying to keep the ball and looking for openings in the opponent's defense. As the first half progressed, Feyenoord began to put more and more pressure on Fortuna's defense. This led to a goal in the 35th minute, when Feyenoord managed to shoot the ball into the net with a breakaway.Five minutes later Feyenoord managed to score again, again through a quick breakaway.
In the final minute of the first half, Feyenoord managed to score again. This time it was a defensive error by the backline that allowed the Rotterdam striker to shoot the ball into the goal. With a 3-0 lead for Feyenoord, both teams went into the locker room for halftime.
In the second half, Fortuna did try to get back into the game. There were a few chances for both teams, but no more were scored. The game ended in a 3-0 victory for Feyenoord.
