On April 22, Fortuna women and Ajax women played against each other in an exciting match. It was an important match for both teams as they were both eager to get the three points. Ajax keeps their sights on the championship with a win, and for the home team, three points against the Amsterdammers secured a third place finish in their first season.

Ajax took the initiative in the opening stages. However, the visitors failed to get the ball behind Diede Lemey who kept the goal clean with a few crucial saves in the first half.

In the 47th minute, Fortuna women were awarded a penalty. The defense had to intervene and worked Jarne Teulings to the ground, the won penalty was used by compatriot Tessa Wullaert. This gave Fortuna a 1-0 lead. However, Ajax women did not let themselves be beaten and kept fighting to equalize. In the 50th minute they also got a penalty, Diede Lemey managed to get the right side but did not get her hand behind the ball allowing Romee Leuchter to sign for the equalizer.

Both teams continued to create chances and the match remained exciting. In the end, it was Romee Leuchter who scored the winning goal for Ajax women in the 64th minute. This made the final score 1-2 and Ajax women took the important three points.

With the loss to Ajax, Roger Reijners' team will have to secure the third spot in the away game against VV Alkmaar.
