Fortuna wins friendly match against EVV
Fortuna played a practice match against big league side EVV on Tuesday night. In Echt it became 0-3 for the team of head coach Danny Buijs.
The match was scheduled to give the reserves some flying practice. The team had changed in ten places, with only Loreintz Rosier starting -just like against Go Ahead Eagles-. In the closing stages Sofiane et Taïbi was given the chance to make his unofficial debut.
The game was as you might expect. Fortuna often looked for opportunities in the attack, EVV was mainly looking for opportunities in the fast turnaround. After ten minutes the score was opened. Oguzhan Özyakup stepped up from twenty meters and shot the free kick behind the goalkeeper: 0-1. That the score did not increase quickly was mainly due to Mouhamed Belkheir. The striker had several good opportunities to double the margin, but found the EVV goalkeeper in his path several times.
Then, after half an hour of play, the lead was further extended. Marko Lazetic stayed calm in the Real penalty area like a true striker and made the 0-2. It was the AC Milan mercenary's first goal in yellow and green. In the remainder of the match there were a few more small chances, but no goals were scored.
In the second half the chances were again for Fortuna. However, the fans in attendance had to wait until the closing stages to see the third goal. After a foul in the EVV penalty area, the referee was resolute: penalty kick. Belkheir, who also had a couple of good chances in the second half, had the chance to kick from eleven meters. The goalkeeper stopped the Frenchman's effort, but had no answer to the rebound. The final score was 0-3.
