Luuk Koopmans makes the switch to Fortuna
Fortuna has strengthened itself with Luuk Koopmans. The 29-year-old goalkeeper has signed a contract for two seasons.
Koopmans is ready for his adventure in Sittard. "I have had good conversations with Americo and the head coach in the past two weeks, that good feeling has remained ever since. Zian Flemming was also always very positive about Fortuna. It is therefore nice to finally be here. I am really looking forward to my period in Sittard."
Americo Branco is satisfied with the acquisition of Koopmans, who has played two hundred games in professional football. "With Luuk, we are bringing in an experienced force," says the technical manager. "He has shown to be a reliable goalkeeper. In addition, Luuk brings a good mentality, one that matches that of the club. We are happy that he has committed to Fortuna."
Koopmans made his debut in professional football at TOP Oss. After three seasons, the Brabant player left for PSV, which then rented him out to MVV Maastricht and ADO Den Haag. The closing post then remained active at the latter club. After three seasons, his contract in The Hague expired.
