Fortuna Women and MVV are joining forces
Fortuna and MVV Maastricht are going to work together in the field of women's football. The joint goal is to further stimulate and develop women's football in South Limburg.
MVV has had a MO17 team since last season, while Fortuna has focused on the older age group. For example, Fortuna Women made their debut last football year and the team of head coach Roger Reijners finished in a creditable third place. In addition, the club has a U23 team, in which ladies up to the age of 19 play.
From the new season, MVV MO17 will start in the Hoofdklasse under the name MVV/Fortuna MO17. Legally, the team will fall under the MVV Academy and will therefore also use the facilities such as fields, stadium, bus and the gym of MVV Maastricht. Fortuna Sittard will co-invest in a head coach. The aim is to let talented players move on to Fortuna Women after their period at MVV Maastricht.
Both clubs will ensure the completion of the selection of the MO17. Fortuna will actively support the MO17 team through clinics and internship training. Furthermore, both clubs will hold regular technical consultations about the development of the team.
