Jeroen Schepens agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk

Schepens began his coaching career on the Limburg fields at VVV-Venlo. Through the youth academy he climbed to the role of assistant coach at the flagship of the provincial rival. A move to Fortuna followed in 2022, also as assistant coach with the first team.

Schepens looks back on his period in Sittard with satisfaction: "I am enormously grateful to Fortuna and in particular to all the staff with whom I was able to work during this period. I got the chance to develop myself further here, under different circumstances and trainers. These are hugely valuable experiences. I will take those with me into my next adventure at Shakhtar."

"When Shakhtar applied some time ago, Jeroen indicated he wanted to go for this opportunity," technical manager Americo Branco reveals. "About this we entered into talks, where he also understood the rights and position of Fortuna in this matter. Jeroen has always behaved correctly and respectfully during his time at Fortuna. We would therefore like to wish him success in his new challenge."

Schepens sat next to head coach Danny Buijs in the dugout for the last time against sc Heerenveen.
