2023 festiviteiten NEC

Fortuna will play its last game of the season against N.E.C. Nijmegen on May 28. With the guarantee of another year of Eredivisie soccer, we want to end the season in a beautiful way after this match.

Immediately after the games there will be several festivities on the field. Frans Theunisz and Big Benny will give us a hand with that. The artists will provide a splashing performance from the playing field after the match. From then on there will also be a catering action in the canals of the stadium. This of course means that the catering outlets in the canals will remain open longer.

The festivities will conclude about one hour after the final whistle. Together with you, we hope for a full Milan Street one more time this season to end the soccer year in a fantastic way. No tickets yet? Click here!

Farewell players
Besides the performances of Frans Theunisz and Big Benny, there will also be a moment to thank some players for their efforts in the Sittard yellow and green. The club will remember the departure of George Cox, Roel Janssen and Yanick van Osch, who were part of the selection for many years. It will also say goodbye to the players who played for the club on a rental basis this season.

More than 400 matches

Fortuna will say goodbye to George Cox, Roel Janssen and Yanick van Osch, among others, after the match against N.E.C. Nijmegen. The trio collectively played over four hundred games in the Sittard yellow and green.

George Cox

The Englishman landed in Sittard on a rental basis in 2019. The left-back would eventually make the switch permanently and grow into a regular at Fortuna. Cox played over a hundred times in the yellow-and-green, in which he has so far scored ten goals. One of the most memorable moments for the 25-year-old defender will undoubtedly be the double against Ajax. After four seasons at Fortuna, Cox will look for a challenge closer to home.

Roel Janssen

The name Roel Janssen will take many supporters back to Jan. 25, 2015. In his first spell at Fortuna, the defender from Venlo crowned himself a hat-trick hero by scoring three goals against the big rival. After a stint at VVV-Venlo, Janssen returned to Sittard in 2020. Since then, the left-winger has added 54 more matches to his total, bringing the tally to no fewer than 195. This puts the man-marker just outside the top ten of players with most games for Fortuna.

Yanick van Osch

Van Osch left PSV in 2020 for a new adventure with Fortuna. Among other things, the goalie had a share in the spectacular enforcement last season. After three seasons, the cooperation comes to an end. In this period, Van Osch stood 65 times under the crossbar at Fortuna.
