Fortuna Women takes first points in Velsen-Zuid
Fortuna Women was able to add the first three points. They won 1-4 when they visited Telstar.
The team of head coach Glenda van Lieshout made its intentions clear early in the game. Isa Dekker was sent off in the first minute, but then shot over. Isabel Kopp also had the chance to open the scoring a few minutes later, her effort just went over. After the first fifteen minutes, Telstar took over the initiative and Claire Dinkla had to take action on a free kick from Chinatsu Kira. The corner that followed was then headed in by Akari Takeshige: 1-0.
However, the scoreboard quickly started moving again. Dekker was played on the flank, passed her opponent and scored. Perhaps it was intended as a cross, but the ball flew beautifully over the Telstar goalie into the far corner. The next Sittard goal was also not long in coming. Dekker was found again, who then managed to find Femke Prins. The striker found the short corner and gave the women's team the lead.
After the break, Fortuna Women quickly moved further ahead. Four minutes after the tea break the ball was in again. Moïsa van Koot put her head against the ball after it came to her from a corner kick via a Telstar player. Telstar tried again afterwards, but had to watch as Fortuna Women eventually finished 1-4. Arons took advantage of a mistake in the defense line, allowing her to easily slide the ball into the empty goal.
